February is coming to a close, and it took me way longer than it should have to realize we got an extra day this month. I’m really excited to finish what I’ve started and get onto the books I have my eye on next. As always, I’ll include links to each book’s Goodreads page in case you want to peruse them further. Happy Friday!!
A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir
This is the book I’ve been waiting to curl up with all day. The story is amazing and the plot continues to thicken. The characters have complexity to them, yet are quite easy to relate to. One of the aspects I love most about this series is that character perspective rotates with each new chapter, which can definitely give you a more thorough understanding of individual personality and thought process. Sabaa Tahir is a writer who knows exactly how to weave a tale you want to explore from all angles. I don’t foresee much of a time lapse between the conclusion of this book and my starting the next one.
Conduct in “A Minor” by S.G. Smith
I picked this one up off of Netgalley awhile ago. The cover drew me in and the synopsis left me curious enough to dive into the unknown. So far, I’m a bit skeptical, but I have a lot of book left to cover so I’m ready to get into more of the story this weekend. I will say that the characters that have been introduced seem to spend a lot more time thinking out loud than they do actually developing as characters. But it’s still fairy early in the game so I hope to see some good quality narrative jump in and save the day.
So that’s what is on the reading agenda for this weekend. If I finish one or both, I know for a fact I’ll be picking up the third book in The Ember in the Ashes series. Hope you all have a great weekend. Relax and read something awesome!
